Private Pilot Program

The private pilot program is the first step in accomplishing your flying dreams. Whether you want to fly as a hobby, or as a career, our private pilot program will give you the tools and the knowledge necessary to obtain your private pilot license.

Elite Helicopter Services prides itself on the quality of service we are able to bring to each customer, and the ability to conform to each student’s schedule. With our two Schweizer 300C helicopters and FLYIT flight simulator, we are able to tailor a schedule to meet the needs of our students.

Flight training will include, but is not limited to:

  • Preflight preparations
  • Preflight procedures
  • Airport and heliport operations
  • Hovering maneuvers
  • Takeoffs, landings, go-rounds
  • Performance maneuvers
  • Navigation
  • Emergency operations
  • Night operations
  • Postflight procedures
  • High altitude training (field elevation 5900ft)

Since we are a part 61 school, students are able to do most of the required studying on their own. Instructors and students will sit down together with a one on one approach to make sure the students have a full understanding of the aeronautical knowledge, and to answer any questions that the students may have.

  • Accident Report Requirements to NTSB

  • Effects of density altitude
  • Weight and balance
  • Principles of aerodynamics, powerplants, and aircraft systems
  • Aeronautical decision making
  • Preflight actions

Elite Helicopter Services is also proud to offer the Fly It simulator. You are able to apply a maximum of 7.5 hours from the simulator toward your private flight requirements when with an instructor. The Simulator allows for a more cost efficient way to acquire your required hours.
